The Capacity Program

A practical framework for recognising pressure, regulating state and choosing what comes next.

The Capacity Program gives individuals and teams a shared language for understanding how pressure affects the way they think, communicate, behave and perform. It is designed for use in real working environments not only inside a workshop.

1. Recognise

What is happening for me right now?

Build awareness of physical, emotional and cognitive state.

This may include noticing:

  • breath

  • energy

  • tension

  • focus

  • thinking patterns

  • behaviour

  • communication

  • early signs of overload or depletion

Recognition creates the space for a more deliberate response.

2. Reset

What state do I need for what comes next?

Use practical tools to shift into a state that better supports the demands of the moment.

Breath and nervous system regulation provide the foundation, supported by broader areas of human capacity including:

  • Breath

  • Nutrition

  • Movement

  • Rest + Recovery

  • Connection

  • Authenticity

  • Perspective

  • Environment

Capacity is dynamic.

The state that supports one moment may not be the state required for the next.

The aim is not constant calm.

It is the ability to recognise your state and access the level of activation, focus or recovery the situation requires.

3. Respond

How do I want to show up next?

Greater awareness and regulation create greater choice. This can support:

  • clearer thinking

  • stronger communication

  • better decision-making

  • greater presence

  • reduced reactivity

  • more intentional leadership and behaviour under pressure

Build capacity over time.

Capacity is not built through one reset alone.

Recalibration involves recognising patterns, strengthening recovery, adjusting habits and behaviours and creating the conditions that support more sustainable performance over time.

For everyday use, the core loop remains:

Recognise → Reset → Respond

Recalibrate is the longer-term process of building and sustaining capacity.
